The Royal Wedding...

I know some of you are sitting there and counting the days for it to happen and there are others like me who are already sick of it and wish it would just happen so people would talk about something else! I wondered what all the fuss was over this wedding, why is the whole world talking about it? To be honest, I didn't even give it a second thought until I kept seeing and hearing news coverage about it, a tad obsessively I might add! Since it's such a huge deal, the wedding of the century (and a century is a LONG time!) I thought I may tape it and see what the fuss is all about! I know some people will be up at 4 in the morning to watch it (crazy!) but I will watch it when I get to it, I'm sure I'll already know the details just by turning on the tv or computer by Friday morning.
Maybe it's where as a little girl I never dreamed up being a princess and getting my prince. I never dreamed of getting a husband, all I ever dreamed of was having my own babies (I was baby crazy!), no, not the insane, mentally disturbed 12 year olds on Maury that want a baby, LOL! I've just always wanted to have children since I played with all my baby dolls as a little girl! Thankfully I do have a wonderful husband with whom we created 4 perfect boys! So see, even if you don't plan on it, your life can work out great, LOL!

I think come this Friday, there will be 2 types of girls (young and old) that will be tuning in to see William and Kate wed, the die hard romantics, filled with little girl fantasies where the girl finally gets her prince, and the others, like myself, tuning in just to see what all the talk is about! Either way, when two people who are truly in love get married, it is a joyous occasion!

My new obsession...

Decorated cookies with royal icing!!

This is only the 2nd time I've ever used royal icing on cookies. I did it last year when I made some bone shaped cookies when my kids were doing a lemonade stand at the yard sale. They were trying to raise money for the Pug Rescue, so I thought bone shaped sounded cute.

But this is the very first time I did an outline and let the icing flow in! I see TONS of mistakes on the cookies but like I was telling my sweet Mother-in-law earlier, I know now what to do differently the next time I make these. I think that will be very soon because I just loved it!!

I made these for my sons b-day party in a few days, but I'm not sure they'll make it that long....
